Since Sarah and I both live in west coast American cities we are pretty much ass-deep in the global bike-share craze. I don't think it's a bad thing. Having lived in several cities with bike share systems in multiple countries, I think it's a smart policy in general, though I'm not yet sold on the recent addition of dockless systems. The idea is nice, but I'd be concerned about whether these services can financially sustain themselves after the VC money is gone and keep paying for employees to constantly track down abandoned bikes. Only time will tell.
