Artist's Note:
Many of my friends have become nonexistent, for Bob Ross is all that matters. But seriously what a soothing soul. He just coaxes you into a calm state of mind, which helps when you're attempting to "copy" his work as he goes along in his lesson.
And as you can tell, my "attempt" at mimicking Bob Ross' work fell a touch short. You can only do so much digitally after all. But it makes you appreciate the depth of his talent. The man probably has so many experiences to draw from, that he's able to recall and create art w/ ease. He's a master at his craft, and he makes it look easy.
Writer's Note:
As the resident not-an-art person, I don't know much about Bob Ross. All I can do is listen to artists gush about him all day. You'd think he was some kind of artisanal demigod, an Art-Jesus, if you will, but after watching a few of his videos I can't help but be impressed by the level the guy's "zen" vibe.
Somehow...I feel like if he and Mr. Rogers had done a TV show together, we'd have achieved world peace by now.
