In our increasingly fragmented world, there are very few things that receive universal scorn, but somehow, Clippy is one of them, joining the esteemed ranks of things like cancer, STDs, and Donald Trump's hair. I'm not entirely sure specifically what made people hate Clippy so much, but whatever the case, Microsoft has certainly failed to learn from the past when developing their Cortana assistant program.
If you think we're being too harsh, I say it's mostly Microsoft's fault for not really caring about the product. I mean, the fact that they chose to name it after that nearly-naked lady from their Halo game series kind of suggests they were half-assing it all along.
