It's probably a bad sign that my favorite part of the new "Justice League" trailer was the fact that Superman wasn't in it. While the "dark and gritty" interpretation worked well with the Batman movies, it feels like DC is over-applying this formula in hopes of recapturing that success. I definitely wouldn't mind a campier and weirder DC superhero movie, though I can't think of a superhero in their catalogue that could even come close to Marvel's Deadpool.
