Artist's Note:
I did get the chance to play GRIS. It is a nice experience, and the aesthetic of the game is so wonderfully crafted. You do feel like you’re in a painting that continues to expand and change as you progress. It has a good grasp of both the themes it draws from, and evokes feelings that you’d experience in times of loss.
However, after completing the game, I found myself feeling… a bit underwhelmed. I’m going to try to play GRIS again to see if I’ve missed something in the experience, but I wish there had been more to it. Like, something is missing from the gameplay itself. I can’t put my finger on it.
I dunno. I want to like this game. As an artist I do. But I can’t bring myself to liking it just yet.
Writer's Note:
So technically if you mix all the colors you are supposed to get black, but honestly…every time I’ve ever messed with paints, mixing everything together tended to produce a brownish, purplish color instead. This is probably less to do with color theory being wrong and more to do with the fact that I use shitty paint. (ノ ̄ー ̄)ノ
