If you ever have the chance to go cherry blossom viewing in Japan, definitely take it, but I do recommend traveling a bit further outside the major metro areas unless you want to be overwhelmed by the commercialization, which has gotten really intense in the past 6 years. Alternatively, if you wanna avoid crowds and prefer cooler weather, I recommend plum blossom viewing instead. Comes a month or two before cherry blossom season, is just as nice, but less crowded, and the travel prices are cheaper. (・ω<)
